Solving Water Scarcity Through Private Investment
Climate change has caused water scarcity in the Western United States to shift from being a temporary phenomenon to a constant reality. Rising temperatures have induced an era of permanent aridification. Massive federal investment in dams and reservoirs no longer provide viable solutions as overall water supply has become unreliable. This dynamic has created the need for private investment in water assets and water conservation. This includes on-farm water use through management, monitoring and irrigation technology, distributed groundwater water storage recharge facilities, water conveyance systems and wastewater management.
Aetos Capital recently made a significant investment of its own capital by acquiring WestWater Research (“WestWater”). WestWater is a leading water consulting firm with seven offices across six Western states and approximately 20 dedicated water professionals. We believe the WestWater team will be an invaluable resource to Aetos Capital by generating deal flow, supervising intensive operational due diligence, and providing post-acquisition support.
